We designed Aerodrums 2 to have low latency and high accuracy. The time between when you hit a drum and hear the sound is minimal, to the point that you can’t perceive it. This creates a natural and immersive drumming experience that is incredibly satisfying to play.

With its advanced 3D tracking system, Aerodrums 2 captures every nuance of your playing, from the speed and intensity of your hits to the position of your drumsticks and feet. This level of precision and realism is unmatched by other drumming systems.

When you hit a drum, Aerodrums 2 uses advanced algorithms to choose an audio sample and playback volume that accurately reflects your musical intent, creating a highly responsive and expressive drumming experience.  Unlike with electronic drums, there are no distracting noises from hitting pads.

Play along to your music

You can play along to music in many different ways with Aerodrums 2. Stream audio from your mobile phone using BlueTooth. Plug your device directly into Aerodrums 2 through the line-in jack. Or transfer your MP3s over WiFi and access features such as segment looping and playback slow down.

Available for Android, iOS, Windows PC, Mac, Chromebook and Meta Quest, our app gives you a stunning, realistic view of your drum kit, sticks, and feet. Select and edit drum kits, practice with our advanced metronome, record performances, view playing stats and much much more.

MIDI compatible

Aerodrums 2’s MIDI compatibility is a powerful feature that opens up a world of possibilities for drummers and music producers alike. With plug and play MIDI output, you can use Aerodrums 2 to control any MIDI-compatible software or hardware, giving you access to an endless array of drum sounds and effects.

Weighing 1.5kg / 3 lb and the length of a pair of drumsticks, Aerodrums 2 easily fits in hand luggage.

If you are into camping or busking, Aerodrums 2 can be powered from a standard USB power bank supporting Power Delivery 3.0 and up (all recents ones do). A typical 10,000mAh power bank that fits in the palm of your hand will let you drum for 8 hours.

Setting up Aerodrums 2 is a breeze compared to traditional electronic drum kits. The latter require intricate assembly, cable routing, and adjustment of multiple pads. Aerodrums 2’s streamlined design lets you be up and running in under a minute.

From unboxing to drumming is as easy as that. Aerodrums 2 shows you where to sit by projecting two red dots on the floor. To go further you install our app on your tablet/computer/phone. Pairing the Aerodrums 2 device with the app is as simple as  configuring an Amazon Echo or Google Home. You don’t even need a WiFi network in range, Aerodrums 2 offers its own.

VR / AR compatible

Aerodrums 2 supports Meta Quest virtual reality headsets. You can see your real world surroundings and hands while drumming. Your drum set and sticks are accurately superimposed in real time, making your drumming experience even more immersive.

Tech specs

While the original Aerodrums requires a separate computer to power, Aerodrums 2 IS the computer. But blazing fast motion tracking and ultra-low latency audio rendering don’t come cheap. Aerodrums 2 is impressively powerful, featuring a multicore CPU, a high-speed mocap sensor, and enough space to store thousands of high fidelity drum samples. With this power, Aerodrums 2 can detect the minutest of hits and the fastest of rolls with no perceptible latency.

Why choose Aerodrums 2 over Aerodrums 1?

After listening to feedback from Aerodrummers, we carefully but significantly developed the technology and spec to make Aerodrums 2 the ultimate air-drumming instrument.

1. Aerodrums 2 uses infrared light and a custom sensor, empowering you to play outdoors in bright sunshine – or wherever else you like! Aerodrums 1 uses visible light and a commodity sensor to track your drumsticks – this means that Aerodrums 1 shines a light on you that can appear bright, and you need to be able to limit daylight in the room where you play.
2. Aerodrums 2 is a standalone instrument, ready straight out of the box. This means you can plug your headphones/amplifier straight into Aerodrums 2 and play straight away. Aerodrums 1 requires a Windows or Mac PC for motion tracking, which means plugging the sensor and light into your PC (both via USB), and configuring audio settings for best performance.
3. Aerodrums 2 boasts 25 preset kits and 246 drum pieces, meaning you can drum with a range of styles and sounds. Aerodrums 1 offers 7 kit presets across 32 drum pieces.
4. Aerodrums 2’s tracking volume is bigger, allowing larger drum sets.
5. Aerodrums 2 drumstick markers are smaller and detachable.
