Meta quest vr for aerodrums 1
The vr experience is not good . The drums are to close to the viewer and moving them is difficult. The aerodrums 2 app seems to be much better. Mabe we can integrate A1 to the A2 meta app or make drastic improvements to the 1st vr experience. I was utterly disappointed with it . Was the reason I bought a quest was to use it with aerodrums but j only have the 1 the 2 is too overpriced for my liking . Anyways please improve the app for A1 users .
Re: Feature requests
It can be tricky to set up the Aerodrums 1 VR experience so that it feels correct. It is important that you first set up the Aerodrums 1 camera at the correct height and distance from your seat. Having done that, if things don't look correct in the VR app, there are a couple of things you can adjust by entering the menu and hitting the 'View' button. Firstly, you can raise your viewpoint up or down by adjusting the 'Eye Height' slider. And secondly, you can adjust the 'Stick Offset' slider to line up your real and virtual hands. If, after doing these steps, your drumsticks feel like they are behaving ok but your drums look like they are not positioned well then the final step is to reposition the drums.
The Aerodrums 2 VR app is a lot easier to set up and behaves better because, unlike Aerodrums 1, it accurately tracks the drumstick markers using real-world 3D coordinates. The Aerodrums 2 sensor is higher resolution and we individually calibrate every device to make the tracking behave well. This makes it a lot easier for us to match up what the Aerodrums 2 sensor sees with what you see in VR. So unfortunately, it is a not a simple matter of updating the Aerodrums 1 VR app to use the same approach as the Aerodrums 2 app.
That said, there are some improvements we would like to add to the Aerodrums 1 VR app such as the ability to see your real hands and sticks (using the passthrough mode) instead of the virtual hands and sticks. This is a feature that the Aerodrums 2 VR app has and it does help a lot with making you feel immersed in the experience.
