Traveling abroad with AD2 stand

Hi everyone,

I have an upcoming work trip that will last for a little longer than I hoped for and was wondering if anyone has encountered any issues with airport security (specifically in the EU) with regard to traveling with our AD2s.

I'm a little worried about the stand as they may see it as a risk, but wanted to know if anyone has had any issues like this.

Note I'm travelling light with only the carry on so checking in baggage is not ideal.

Hi, I was just talking to Yann about this. He has travelled in the EU with Aerodrums 2 in his hand luggage many times. He said it always caused his bag to go into the review lane at airport security. The last time it happened they just asked what it was and when he said it was a tripod they didn't open the bag. So it has only ever caused him a slight delay - there was never a doubt that he could board with it.

I've travelled a few times, mainly within my own country, never abroad, and I haven't had any issues. But I've had that thought in the back of my mind too. That's why in the last few times, I decided to put the tripod's stem inside my luggage, but I had to check it in. In your case, I don't think you want to check it in, so I really wouldn't know what each airport might require you to do with your luggage or tripod.
