I received my Aerodrums and camera stand yesterday, and I set it up fairly easily. I wore my sunglasses but the light was still much too bright, so I went to Home Depot and bought some Safety IR5 Lens Brazing Goggles meant for arc welders, which worked very well.
I placed the camera stand in front of my raised 65" HDTV (near the bottom right corner), attached my laptop PC via HDMI cable, and am enjoying the displayed drum kit in full screen mode on the big TV.
For traveling, I bought a Lightweight Flute Hard Case, removed the molded padding from inside, and used padding from the Aerodrums box to protect my Aerodrums sticks and all the reflectors.
I will carry the flute case, camera with light ring, collapsed camera stand, and my laptop in my backpack when I fly to see relatives next month. (Planning to buy Aerodrums 2 as soon as I can, but will enjoy this setup until then.)

Re: Your feedback helps us improve
I am just beginning with Aerodrums and have tried searching for the answer unsuccessfully - is there a way to move the menu far to the left so I do not accidentally hit it when trying to hit other drums?

Not sure if this "feedback" topic is still a thing, seeing there's nothing about Aerodrums 2, but well here's my feedback on the matter.
First, I am not a good drummer, I have Aerodrums 1 and loved it except for the computer requirement and the hot light ring. I was impressed and it fully replaced my electric drumkit.
Upon receiving Aerodrums 2, my two biggest pain points were addressed and I feel I can play this is a lot more often than I did with AD1 (except that right now I really don't have the time, meh).
But there are still smaller issues which I am sure will also be addressed at some point (as were the "buzz" and the wifi connection) and now that you are launching to the public I feel like some of these may require quick consideration.
The smartphone (Android) app itself:
- Add a small line that reads something like "Learn and Challenge unavailable for now / planned for XX 2025"
- On a "regular" smartphone, the menu/icons are way too small. I don't need to see the drumkit that much - I'd actually prefer to only have a big menu instead with large touch buttons for the settings (and one to effectively switch to the drumkit view)
- Closing a menu requires hitting the small X on the top right, it would be nice to close it when clicking outside the window
- I can't click the links in the Help section (the Help tab, links in the Licenses tab work)
The Quest app:
- I could finally test it now that I finally connected AD2 to my wifi network, but I could never get the "AD2-less" drumkit to work
The drumming:
- What's the status on choking cymbals? Worked well in AD1, I miss that
- Hitting a piece on the sides with the two chopsticks doesn't work as well as it did with AD1 (maybe a matter of settings? EDIT: Yes, increasing Hotspot cutoff to 3.2 fixed that)
- I guess it's planned for later but creating our own drumkit (same as AD1) would be nice, even if it does not render (especially on Quest). I mean, I'd like my fantasy drumkit that you can never assemble in real life unless you're Terry Bozzio (well in that extreme example I understand it would not work on AD2) like 3 base drums + 2 hi-hats + 5 cymbals + 9 toms
- One more configuration for cymbals height would be nice
I'm very happy with my Aerodrums 2 unit, the response and the sound is good, the metal kit is close enough to my needs, it's not as complete as AD1 yet but it's hassle-free.
