Easy mute and unmute

Post by StefanOE » Thu Nov 07, 2024 1:42 pm

In the last Drum Show video I saw a footswitch to mute and unmute the sound. I think it would be a good idea to have a gesture or something like that to easy mute and unmute the drumsounds between songs. Or is there an easy solution for that already?

There is an option in the Preferences menu to enable "Stage Mode". when enabled, the Menu button on the drumming screen is hidden and a Mute button is shown instead. This button is placed far to the left so that you don't trigger it unintentionally while playing.

Richard's response was for Aerodrums 1.x.
I use this with Aerodrums 2 for live and rehearsals:

This small box allows you to adjust the volume, switch between mono and stereo, mute everything and provides a balanced TRS output allowing the use of cables longer than 5 meters.

In the Aerodrums 2 app, there is a mute/unmute button on the drumming screen.

Regarding gestures, there are some undocumented gestures already there to start/stop a playlist and move to the previous/next song that involve holding both stick tips above your left or right shoulder. We plan to review this soon and look at doing more with gestures so we may add the ability to mute/unmute without needing the app running.

I understand that this is indispensable for someone who wants to play without the App, but please make it possible to switch this off. I want to avoid starting my playlist in the middle of a concert just because I made a wrong move. For live usage, I prefer relying on hardware for volume and muting.

Good point Wolfgang. We will make it possible to disable gestures.
