Aerodrums 2
Re: Aerodrums 2
These repeat whingy questioners appear to be time wasters or 12 year olds. But I repeat myself.

The line preceeding the line you quoted said:InTheWorks wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 6:20 pmFor stage use all the edrum stuff I've looked at only has stereo outputs. So why use that very curious phrasing of "via USB for stage mixing"?
Can you shed some light on this?
So multi-channel output is not something we plan to implement before shipping but rather something we will look at supporting later. But not only that. Aerodrums 2’s advanced connectivity options and over-the-air updates allow for a limitless number of new features to be added.
When we wrote this we had in mind that it would be used in conjunction with an audio interface/mixer to convert the multi-channel audio from Aerodrums 2 into multiple outputs, XLR or otherwise.

Just a quick update on power.
It turns out we really had done 0 homework on this before, sorry about this:
While drumming and connected to WiFi, the power consumption reading for Aerodrums 2 we see now is 4.4W. (Without any software related power optimisations.)
Obviously this is very far from our current power brick's nominal rating (4.4W is less than 12 times less than the 60W that implied).
This explains why there are no heat dissipation issues.
And it means you can drum for hours even with small and affordable 12V battery packs.

Glad to hear this!
As we get closer to having Aerodrums 2 in our hands it will be interesting to discover the portable ways to power it.
Might need to rethink my carry case plans for Aerodrums 2 if a battery is a feasible option, too. Can you say anything more about the 12V batteries that you expect we could use?
edit: I've attached something I found on Amazon, is this what you mean?

Yes that's exactly what I mean.
Info will need to be confirmed once we've done more thorough tests and optimisations.
But from what we've seen with our power usage meter, the item in the picture you attached would enable you to play for 13 hours.
This is assuming that the Wh figure given in the Amazon listing headline is accurate. Unfortunately these need to be taken with a grain of salt.

Re: Aerodrums 2
Sorry to be late to the party, but I only just found out about v2. I went to the Kickstarter site, but even though the "Not so Early Bird" reward shows 5 left of 45 and "KS Special" reward shows 295 left of 300, apparently neither of these are available. Does this mean I'm locked out of the campaign and now need to wait until the product goes retail?

I have a Mission Engineering 529P 25,000mAh rechargeable power bank that can deliver 12v @ 4.5A max which should be perfect for this.Sipaliwini wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 5:12 pmJust a quick update on power.
