I noticed on an old post that there hoped to be an update so that Aerodrums can be connected directly to Spotify.
Is there a timescale yet for this ? I'm assuming that at the moment the only way to play along with Spotify playlists is to play Spotify through an external
source.
I only bought the Aerodrums today so I might have a lot of questions later !!!
Spotify Update
Re: Spotify Update
I'm sorry, we haven't looked at implementing a Spotify integration yet.
If you are on a Mac there should be no issue playing Aerodrums at the same time as Spotify is playing music.
If you are on Windows and using the Exclusive WASAPI audio device setting (in the Aerodrums Latency screen) then you won't be able to use Spotify. However, if you change the device setting to Shared WASAPI then you will. The downside is that there will be little extra audio latency when drumming but most people find this to be an acceptable compromise.

Re: Spotify Update
Richard did you guys say a software update was on course to drop this week (I.e now ) or there is some delay?
Seeking clarity.

Re: Spotify Update
I might have said that. We're still fixing a few more issues. We expect to release this update late next week but it's not a certainty.
Re: Spotify Update
Ok thanks, no problem. though it's probably best practice to observe the wise old saying amongst software developers:
"Don't decree, if it ain't gonna be!"

Re: Spotify Update
Hi there,
Im new to Aerodrums and got my set yesterday. I was excited to play with spotify and had a good list of drumming songs prepared, but I wasnt able to hear aerodrums sound and music from the spotify webplayer at the same time.
You stated:
"If you are on a Mac there should be no issue playing Aerodrums at the same time as Spotify is playing music."
Can you please tell me the right settings and do I have to install the app? Shouldnt it also be possible using the webplayer from spotify? Is it possible that the airpods 2nd gen. have a high latency so that the drum hit is recognized a lot later then using the standard audio out of the macbook?
Thanx in advance
best regards
Marcus

Re: Spotify Update
Hi Marcus,
Actually, on Mac, when you're on the Latency screen in Aerodrums you should see two "Core Audio" options. One of these will give slighter worse latency but will let other applications output audio at the same time as Aerodrums. So you probably need to change that setting and it should work then to play music from the Spotify web player.
Yes, AirPods will very likely to add an unacceptable amount of latency to the drumming experience. I strongly recommend you try using wired headphones first so you understand how much better it feels with lower latency.
