Aerodrums can no longer play playlist tracks

Post by FRANDIROMA » Fri Jan 05, 2024 12:18 pm

Hello to all aerodrummers and happy new year!

Aerodrums can no longer play playlist tracks. Neither from the playlist page itself (where the tracks are loaded), nor from "Play" to play along.

Any suggestions?

Hi, and happy new year
Sadly I have no idea what is happening. Did you recently added new files? Also make sure the location of your files is exact. If your tracks are on an external device, the drive letter might have changed.

I would check the playlist file @ C:\Program Files (x86)\Aerodrums\conf\playlist.txt for weird things.

You could also rename playlist.txt to what you want and start a new one with only a few tracks you are sure they worked before.

Maybe Richard has another idea.

The location of the files has been the same for a year and a half!

the strange thing is that everything always worked until a few days ago.

The files are all mp3 and are in the folder that Aerodrums uses by default.

Maybe it could be a Windows Media Player problem.

Everything else in Aerodrums works? If so, just for diagnostics I would try to create a new playlist and add files and verify them one by one if you can hear them in the playlist page. You can save your actual playlist.txt by renaming it.

Everything else about Aerodrums works fine. And I never moved any folders.
All files are already tested and working. I'll try to do as you suggest.

Thank you!

Hi, sorry for the delay replying. We do rely on Windows to decode the MP3 files so it is possibly a Windows Media Player issue like you suggested. Or it could be an issue with one of your MP3s that is corrupted in some way - I don't know if you added any new MP3s just before experiencing the issue?

Could you try temporarily clear the playlist folder and then copy in a file in .ogg format. If you don't have any, here is one you can use: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Example.ogg

If that works, could you then try add a single mp3 to the folder that you're sure used to work. Then check if that file plays ok.

If that works, then try add back the rest of your mp3 files and see what happens.

Hi Richard! No worries about the delay!

Before doing what you suggested, I checked which driver Aerodrums was working with.

And I saw that Asio4all was automatically selected, instead of Umc Asio driver.

I uninstalled Asio4all, which evidently chose itself, when the sound card was not connected.

I thought it was a driver problem, because when opening a file inserted in the playlist directly from its origin folder, mediaplayer worked normally.

Thanks anyway and happy new year!
