Camera fails to mount on new M1 Macbook Pro 16-inch 2021 Ventura 13.1
I got a new computer and I've noticed the camera consistently fails to mount regardless of what I try to get the light to turn on. I can't tell if my camera has gone bad, or its the USB to USB-C adapter I'm using (JSAUX brand) or if its a USB glitch in the computer itself, or another computer hardware issue. I try plugging it into all the 3 usb-c ports on my computer and I can never get it to recognize the camera the first time I try. Randomly it will sometimes mount and the camera's blue light will turn on, but I have no way of knowing when it will work and when it won't, so this is hugely problematic from a reliability/gigging standpoint.
Any help much appreciated. Hardware specs in the Subject.

In our experience some non-Apple branded USB-A to USB-C adapters don't work well. We recommend using an Apple-certified single socket adapter.
For the lamp it's not necessary for it to be plugged into a computer, it can just as well be powered from a phone charger plugged into the wall, for example, if that's more convenient for you.

Thanks Richard! I've been having the suspicion that these JSAUX and Anker adapters I bought on amazon are just pieces of trash. I feel like I have issues with other peripherals I need to connect to my macbooks too. Sounds like its best to shell out the bigger bucks for the Apple products.

Hi Eric,
I am very interested to know how you got on with using the apple adapters for the Aerodrums camera and light?
Also I am thinking of buying a m1 mac book. Could I ask you how Aerodrums runs on it? Also can it run natively or through Rosetta?
thanks
Simon

I haven't acquired any apple adapters (yet) but I'll make sure to update this thread if and when I do accomplish that at some point in the future. Also, for the record, I have successfully run Aerodrums on M1 and M2 macbooks and the software itself works fine on both.

Thanks Eric thats good to know that Aerodrums works fine in the m1 and m2 chip. I hope the adapters work well.

Hi Eric, sorry could you clarify whether Aerodrums’s works on Rosetta or natively on M1 chip?

Not sure what Rosetta is, but I'm definitely running this on an M1 Pro just fine.

Rosseta is a translation programme that enables programmes to be converted to intel in order to work with the new m1 or m2 chip. If your saying that it works without having to use Rosseta that's great.
