Tie

Post by JazzyA » Mon Aug 29, 2022 6:20 pm

Hi,

I cannot see any way to tie 2 notes together (as in making one longer sound); is this really the case?
Thanks

There is no support for ties currently. You don't often see tied notes in drum notation - can I ask how you want to use them? Is it just a preference you have for notating rhythms (e.g. to make them easier to read), is it to indicate how long cymbals should ring for (until choked) or is it to indicate how long drum rolls should be played for?

Hi Richard,
Thanks for the rapid response. Actually the requirement just comes from me transcribing a song example from a drum tuition book attached. Many thanks

Thanks for the example. There is obviously an implied hi-hat pedal note where the tie ends so to notate this in Aered I would just be explicit here and place a hi-hat pedal note on beat 4.
