Recording and performance questions

As someone who can't set up my kit in my living space (and hasn't been able to for years) this system sounds amazing. A few quick questions:

1. Is there a multitrack output option - that is, recording each aspect of the kit on a separate audio file (similar to how a recording studio would operate)? Or does it all mix down to two tracks (Stereo L/R)? I saw the MIDI options but this would be nice too.

2. What options are there with regards to modifying the sounds - specifically EQing and muffling individual components? I'm aware that most electronic drum kits allow you to do that, I was curious if that was part of the software here too.

Thanks in advance

Thank you for your interest, we are making Aerodrums for people who are in your case.

It is not currently possible to send each drum to its own audio channel, they are mixed into a stereo signal. We will add this feature when we work on audio routing, but it will probably be at least a few months before we do this.
If users request it, we can look into adding an option to the "Export to WAV" feature, where instead of outputting a single mixed WAV file, it would output a WAV for each track, this could be done much quicker.

Aerodrums provides individual drum volume (and sensitivity) adjustment and a global reverb effect. There is currently no built-in EQing.

Adding multiple wav outputs in the "export to wav" option would work just as well - or at least the option to "group" different components to different wav outputs (one for stereo overhead, all toms, etc). I would definitely use this feature, and I'd imagine it would make Aerodrums more studio-friendly as well.

A quick follow-up question: What is the process like for adding your own drum samples to create a custom kit? Are there preferred file formats, or limitations with regards to sample rate/bit depth? (such as 44.1k but not 48k, or 16bit but not 24 bit, etc) The sound libraries that I'm interested in provide formats in wav, gog, and/or tci (the last two I'm unfamiliar with in general). I'd be happy to provide links if requested to make checking this easier, but I don't know the forum rules about outside links so I'll hold off for now. (and sorry if this sounds like a basic question, but electronic drums are new to me in general - I'm used to miking my analog kit and running everything through a mixer, but again, that's not an option for me anymore, and likely won't be anytime in the near future). Thanks again in advance - I'm looking forward to trying this out!

Currently the only audio files that Aerodrums supports for making custom drum/cymbal elements are uncompressed, mono/stereo, 8/16/24-bit wav files. The native sample rate is 44100 hz; if you specify a wav file with a different sample rate it will automatically be converted to 44100.

Feel free to post links with info on the other file formats you mentioned. I will take a look, thanks.

Hi, I commented on 48k a few weeks ago in another thread:

Unfortunately, there are many more features and fixes that are taking priority right now.
