Hey, does anybody know how can I set up the USB to output audio to speakers or headsets?

Hi!

You can't use the USB port as an audio output (at least not yet). You can, however, use the headphone jack.

USB-C audio would be an exciting feature - especially for audio quality. My AD2 unit has a low-level "interference" noise present from the headphone jack that I wish were not there. My hope would be that USB-based audio would not have this noise problem. I already tried an adapter from USB-C to analog stereo headphone just in case (i.e. this adapter works with cell phones and iPads, etc.)... but as already stated, I found that this type of USB-C audio is not supported yet.

Hi,

I use a small ground isolator that eliminates almost all hum from the output. It works perfectly, Only a certain amount of signal level loss is noticeable, but with a high‑quality terminal device featuring appropriate impedance and signal processing, it can be neglected.

Give it a try...

It would be good if @aerodrums could confirm if it is technically possible via a firmware update only and that the original hardware is capable. At least then there is a chance of including on roadmap based on other tasks and priorities. I’m interested to know and if possible, if using a high quality DAC whether that would maximise the audio quality and take advantage of the original sample??

I too was not at all satisfied with the sound quality coming directly from the AD2 to the headphones.

I'm using a professional headphone amplifer connected via jack to Aerodrums, and to me the result is very good!
