I did it many times, nothing happened again.
May be a free SSD5.5 doesn't work in vstHost.
So ok, I left it because of the time.

I don’t think this has anything to do with your problem, I’ve used VSTHost with a lot of free and non free VSTs.

I’ve seen in your screenshot that you have installed SSD5 in C:\Program Files\VstPlugIns, so you should have the 64bit version of the plugin. Are you sure you are using vsthostostx64.zip? vsthostx86.zip will not work with your plugin.

I'd like to use SSD 5.5 like standalone app.
You could also have a look on SAVIHost from the same developer. SAVIHost makes any VST plugin to be a standalone app. Unzip the file savihostXXX.zip, name it like your dll and put it in the same folder like the dll. In your case you would rename it to SSDSampler5.exe and put it beside SSDSampler5.dll. After you can create a shortcut from SSDSampler5.exe to your desktop.
You can find it here: https://www.hermannseib.com/english/savihost.htm
Be sure to chose the right variant. Before writing I’ve tried successfully savihostnkx64.zip (VST2, without keyboard). If your system is 32bit you need to take savihostnkx86.zip
