Re: Linux

Thank you for doing more work on this. Yes this is a good way to measure latency. 15-18ms is not ideal but it is definitely good enough to play without it being distracting. Of course it is much more than an acoustic set, but for example it is a bit less than depressing an acoustic piano key softly....

Re: Linux

Wow, a lot of effort and know-how went into this. Thank you for working on it. Before we can endorse this solution we need to check the patch and understand the implications for the user's system. We haven't had time to do this yet but plan to soon. Until then, please exercise caution and use your j...

Re: What type of glue for the replacement balls?

Hello, I am sorry that this happened. Yes it is standard silicone glue. More precisely it is neutral cure, low modulus, clear silicone sealant. If you don't get neutral cure it will be smellier. Clear is just for aesthetics. Low modulus gives some flexibility. We haven't experimented with silicones ...

Re: Edge/centered assignments when adding samples?

Yes, if there is no correlation, as in, you may want to hit on the edge hard or soft and at the center hard or soft in equal measures, then it won't work to mix samples in the element, as you will loose control of your playing.

Re: Edge/centered assignments when adding samples?

Just to add to what Richard said, in the spirit of working around the current lack of "positional sensing": -if there is a strong correlation between edge/centered and hit speed, for example edge hits are always harder, when building your folder of samples to give Aerodrums, let's say you have sampl...

Re: Shots fired

Thanks, I think the rental idea is something we need to look at more. The logistics of it are tricky though. Maybe buy the sticks and foot markers, rent/return the camera, lamp and software.

Re: Shots fired

Hello Johnny, thanks for the constructive criticism. I completely agree that the technology behind Aerodrums has a lot more potential than just replacing entry level electronic drums. But for us to be able to explore that potential we need to have good commercial success. So for example there are no...

Re: Shots fired

Thank you for your support Mitch. It's only recently that we realised how much you needed to spend on electronic drums to get good expressivity. Before then we had assumed most branded entry-level models did a good job. About Freedrum and Pocket drum, here is a post I wrote a while back about how we...
