Pedal issues

Post by jgaskell » Tue May 13, 2014 6:51 pm

Hi,

I'm having problems with my hi hat (left) foot being recognised as my bass foot. I'm wearing shin marker for bass pedal and foot marker for hi-hat and often whilst playing the left will start being detected as the right, so both feet are playing the bass. I've made sure I've selected the correct pedal setting to reflect this configuration.

It seems to correct itself when I lift my left foot above the horizontal dividing line and then put it down again, but as you can imagine this isn't very practical (or cool looking 8-) ).

Any ideas?

Can you see if the labeling of your left foot turns from "LF" to "RS" when the problem happens?
As a test could you try placing your feet further apart than you normally do and see if it still happens?
Are your hihat and kick pedals placed nearer to each other than in the preset kits?

Aerodrums has an experimental feature where it can track a foot marker and a shin marker on the same leg. It is likely that it is causing the issue you are experiencing. There hasn't been much interest in this feature, and we are reaching the conclusion that a single foot marker is sufficient in all cases. We are considering dropping this feature altogether.
