Tablet Latency

Does anyone know how to improve latency in a tablet?
I have a Linx 1010B low-cost tablet (Intel Atom 1.83GHz processor, 2Gb RAM, Windows 10) for use with Aerodrums.
It is brand new - I.e. hopefully there is nothing clogging up the system.
Only one option appears in the sound card sample rate: 16 bit, 48000Hz.
The recommended sample rate of 44100Hz (and presumably therefore WASAPI) is not available.
Latency is quite bad, and a similar situation for other tablets is reported in some other posts. I was wondering whether an external sound card might help, of which there are several available from Amazon, for example:
Sabrent, current price £5.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IRVQ0F8
Behringer, current price £22.99
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Behringer-UCA20 ... 000KW2YEI/
..or is there another solution?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
