Really glad you are getting a better experience now.
About the hihat pedal, what could be happening is that the foot marker on your hihat foot is facing away from the camera. This can happen if your style is to have your feet make a fairly big angle (e.g. left points towards 10 and right points towards 2 on the clock). The solution is to adjust the elastic strip on your foot so that the reflective patch on the foot piece now faces more towards the camera. So lets say you are right handed and playing hihats on your left. With your foot pointing to 10 o'clock, if the elastic strip is straight, the foot piece also points to 10, but the camera is at 1 o'clock. Now if you adjust the strip to rotate the foot piece towards the right, you can make it point roughly towards the camera.

Generally you can judge if something like this is happening by looking at the size of the colored circles that show your feet markers: when they are not well oriented towards the camera, they will get small and can even disappear from time to time.
That's when the pedals become unresponsive and its time to check the foot pieces are facing towards the camera.

Set it up again and put the camera in the usual position.
Now my feet aren't showing up at all.
When I line my body up with the diagram,my shins and below are cut off no matter where I move.
I tried the home button to reset it but no go.

Pedals aint working now.
Showing blue until I lift my feet way up in the air.
I need double the length in the room for them to show up which I don't have(2 full steps).
I tried the home key but the pedals stay the same.
Bugger.

Just can't get the proper position to play each drum without triggering the other.

Wish I could put a wav up to show you.

Can you check if the PS3 Eye camera's lens is rotated fully towards the right (clockwise when the lens is facing towards you)?
This could explain why you need to setup very far.

I'm tall so my head goes much higher than the diagram.

Can't play doubles like I can on the practice pad.
On the pad,I do a minute of 32nd notes at 120 bpm.

I count out 36 bars on average and the notes are even and relaxed.

Get on the Aerodrums and I can't get nowhere near the speed and the doubles sound like I'm playing half speed singles.
Also developed a blister on the thirdfinger beside the pinky as these sticks are a bit hard to play trad grip in free air.

I used to play matched but I get way more speed and dynamics playing trad.
Also for Moeller bouncy things, the trad grip works better for me.

Would love more overtones ,ring on the toms for the jazz kits.

Most of the E kits have very short decay, sustain on the toms which enhances that machine gun effect when real toms ring longer.

I just hate E-drum toms.
Not worth the 8k they charge for a plasticky tom sound.

Anyway, having fun and enjoying the Aerodrums.

It is another ball game playing these.
Real drums are much easier.

For basic beats though ,these are terrific.

I would have to change my technique to really get the hang of playing these.

Can't for the life of me perform a Moeller type stroke in free air.
That stroke needs the bounce from a drum to make it work.

Hats just aren't working regardless of camera/seat position.

Just aint working dam it.

Stuff I would nail on a real kit,I sound like a rookie on these.

Sometimes they open, then they close and inbetween.

Never have this problem on a real pedal

Everytime I do a fill,I trigger a crash or snare when I go around the toms.

Gets frustrating when you do it 5 times.
Couldn't use these live unless it was very barebones drumming.

The concept nis fantastic but still in it's infancy.

When pcs get more powerful this concept will grow.
ATM it's not quite there.

With these ,you need a very small up and downstroke and even then you trigger pieces you shouldn't have.

P.S. I don't know how you performed that Sting tune Richard without triggering other pieces.
Very well done.

You can still hear the snare backbeat change in dynamics which is understandable.

Drums are such a feel thing and when you're hitting air,the feel part is diminished.

Hi Smasha, in reply to some of your comments...

I developed my doubles technique by practicing accenting the second hit in each double. I no longer do that consciously but I found this helped a lot in developing the ability to execute even and smooth double-stroke rolls.

On Aerodrums, if you're letting the stick "bounce" off your palm (which I strongly recommend) then matched grip will work much better. It's tricky to get a similar feel with traditional grip.

Regarding Moeller, I'll see if I can record a slow-motion video for you showing how I do it. Perhaps our techniques differ.

When I play Aerodrums now, I rarely hit a drum that I didn't intend but then again I've had more playing time than anyone else. It probably just takes more getting used to. I remember a while back I was getting frustrated with mishits when moving my right hand between the floor tom and hi-hat but when I do it now I never have a problem. I guess I just adapted my gestures unconsciously to avoid these sorts of issues.

Given that you're tall, the only thing I can suggest that maybe you haven't tried is to reposition all the drums so that you can reach them comfortably. I'd also suggest playing on a kit with fewer drums/cymbals until you can hit everything precisely. The smaller the kit the less likely you are to hit things unintentionally.

Thanks for the tips Richard.Your playing is very precise.
Very nice job on the Living Colour and Sting tracks.

I just have to stop blaming the tools and practice.

I am enjoying Aerodrums, the more I play em.
I just have to dig in.

Love the sounds!

I actually like the small tom now.
I was just hitting it too hard before.
Ir gives off a lovely ring when played at a lower dynamic.

Snare is killer!
