Ok, following what I read on internet discussions, I would try to find another driver for your sound device.

Could you go in Control Panel -> System and Security -> System -> Device Manager, click the arrow next to Sound, video and game controllers, right click on the Conexant device, select properties, then tell me the driver date and version (it should look something like " 8.66.6.52")?

Thank you,

could you download the driver from this page: http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOUND-CARD/Conexant/Conexant-SmartAudio-HD-Driver-8662253-for-Windows-10-64-bit.shtml and follow the instructions to install it?
(The file is published by Microsoft so it is safe).

They seem to be releasing new Windows 10 drivers every week for this device, which is not a good sign. If this fails, there are three options left:
-try versions of the driver for older versions of Windows (this can be error prone and painstaking)
-try generic audio drivers published by Microsoft (uninstall the driver entirely in the device manager, then reboot the computer and install what Windows update suggests)
-purchase a USB audio device
