Hi - I have successfully installed Aerodrums on my pc, but when installing it on my new laptop, I get the following error message when I go to unpack the zip folder:

An error occurred while trying to read the source file:
The source file
"C:\Users\Curt\AppData\Local\Temp\7zO1A16.tmp/data/elements/*"
does not exist.

Click Retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or
Abort to cancel installation.

I have tried all three options to no avail.

Selecting Ignore proceeds to load the software but on running it, there is no text in any of the menu buttons, and the screen windows are blank.

Any ideas how to get the software working on my laptop please?

Many thanks.

Kind regards.

m

Hello there,

sorry things are not going smoothly. You are having two separate problems:

The first one is that for some reason Windows isn't able to extract the zip file correctly. It could be that it got corrupted during download, among other things. I would try to download the installer again to see if the problem goes away.

The other one is that your graphics card driver is not up to date. When updating, if your computer has two graphics cards like some laptops do (an "integrated" one and a "discrete" one), make sure that Aerodrums uses the "discrete" one (right click Aerodrums.exe, and if you see a "Run with graphics processor" item, make sure to select the dedicated one and check that it is the default.)

Let me know how things go.

Hi I've tried removing then reinstalling several times and my problem remains.

All very disappointing - no mobile kit for me, defeating the main object for purchasing in the first place.......

Hi, regarding the zip file unpacking issue, one option would be to unzip it on your desktop PC and then copy the files on a memory stick (or by some other means) to your laptop.

Another thing I suggest is to try use something other than the Windows built-in zip extractor to unpack the zip, e.g. the free ZIP Reader from here: https://www.pkware.com/software

Hi Richard

Thanks for taking time to help - appreciated.

I tried both options that you suggested, with the same result as my original problem.

Perhaps it's my laptop.

Kind regards

Is the software available on dvd - I really need to get Aerodrums working on my laptop and would like to see if I can get it operating correctly from a dvd.

Thank you.

We can send you a DVD but it may take longer to arrive than it would to solve the problem another way (plus it may not solve your problem).
I am sending you a pm.
