Pedals for Kick and Hi-Hat

Hi All, I tried to search through the forum but no results as pedal and kick etc are too common a word :-(

Basically I am new to AeroDrums and drumming. I have only used a few time and all is well other than I feel I could do with some kind of sprung pedals.
I have seen them on the site but have not been able to find any on the internet. Any ideas or recommendations? Ideally something with an adjustable tension I think?

regards Russ

Hi, you're probably referring to our video about foot technique?

The plastic pedal we show in the video is the Hansenfutz training pedal: ... B000LPNRM2
It has an adjustable spring but even on the lowest tension I find it still has a lot more resistance than a real kick drum pedal.

I don't really have any recommendations for a kick pedal but keep in mind that you will probably need a kick drum practice pad as well, i.e. a surface for the beater to hit. Also keep in mind that you will need to attach the Aerodrums foot piece to the pedal so that the camera can see it.

Ok, thanks you for reply. I have seen the Hansunfutz site but prices are quite ridiculous in my opinion. I was going to purchase two budget kick pedals (one for hi Hat) and just assumed I could remove the beater and the spring would give me the tension i needed. However looks like i need a stopper?

I have never tried it without a "stopper" but there's no doubt it will feel nicer if you can feel the beater hitting a surface and I'm pretty sure this will be necessary if you want to be able to control the pedal well, i.e. to play double strokes, etc.
You should also make sure you get a pedal with a sturdy base plate under the footboard so that it stays stable on the ground and doesn't collapse when you start playing it.

See my short video and skip to 1:10 where i show my own personal pedal solution.

used a regular pedal and i made a bump-stop with a little give to it (e.g the give of a bass drum) and works pretty well without needing a plate or something for beater to hit which is the alternative..
having the beater in place also give things a similar momentum to playing for real, not that I have recent memories of that...

Hope that is of some help
