Unlocking the potential of this technology

Hi,

Firstly I'm not a drummer (yet). I've never played a set of drums, yet I'm eagerly awaiting the delivery of Aerodrums.

I watched the pitch on Dragon's Den and as soon as I saw the product I saw the potential.
They were focused on existing drummers and only saw that limited market.

For me you should be pitching it as a fun teaching resource in the form of a game just like RockSmith. You have the drum technology you also have Aered which understands scores so it can't be that much of a stretch to test my accuracy in performing a piece of music.

In that way you capture just not serious musicians but the millions of finger drumming, toe tapping individuals out there who

a) can't afford a drum kit
b) don't have space for a drum kit
c) don't have enough sound dampening for ad hoc drumming

I play Rocksmith and I can tell you I'm never going to be Jimmy Page but Rocksmith keeps me playing the guitar and I don't have to be 'perfect' to enjoy it.

By making the game you are also seeding the market for drummers who will then go on to use and promote Aerodrums.
This could turn it from a niche product for the drumming community into a mass market technology.

Integrating Rocksmith and DrumSmith, add an electronic piano and hey presto you've got BandSmith. OMG it could be awesome.

That's how I'd be pushing this product forward.

Be interesting to hear your plans

I like the name BandSmith already.

With time and hopefully a success of Aerodrums, I'm sure that will all happen. This is my personal feeling and I'm not at all affiliated with Aerodrums.

Thanks for the comments. These ideas have been on our mind for quite a while now and we have mentioned before that we plan to integrate the Aered technology into Aerodrums to make a new version that has a strong focus on education.

I ditto that, and not just education, but also exercise. Just think about the calories you'd need to just play one song!
