MIDI RECORDING TIPS
I think I have probably posted on this subject. Does anybody have any tips on midi recording in Logic and or Ableton? I am asking about specific settings that you use when it comes to velocity etc. Not full snare hits. I know this is a velocity issue. Using SSD 5, but also use Addictive Drums.

Hi condordontsurf,
I cannot help you with Ableton or Logic, my DAW is Reaper, but I’m using SSD5 and Addictive.

I’m sorry, I don’t understand your question. What exactly isn’t working for you?condordontsurf wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 12:48 amNot full snare hits. I know this is a velocity issue.

Re: MIDI RECORDING TIPS
basically not recording exactly what you are hearing in regards to the snare rim shots.
Re: MIDI RECORDING TIPS
It’s strange that you don’t hear the same things. A long time ago I had a problem with recording MIDI into Tracktion. Whilst playing there wasn’t any problem, but the recording was garbage. This is why I went to use Reaper.
Have you seen this before?
Do you have this with both DAWs and with both VSTIs?
What have you chosen in MIDI output mode, MIDI only or MIDI and sounds?
Do you use Addictive 1 or 2?
Which MIDI maps you are using?
For SSD5 is it my map I had posted here?

More experimentation is needed, which now that I got the lightless camera, I intend to do.
