Would anybody mind sharing some of their custom made kits?

this is kind of an update to this thread I made a couple months back.

Would anybody on here mind sharing a custom kit they have made using the baseline folder structure that Richard suggested, or whatever that works great for them? I want to be able to take a deep dive into the isolated samples, volume levels, and folder structure that work best in hopes of creating a fool proof template.

After having the time to get back into this, I find myself still struggling to get a decent sounding playable kit. I have thousands of samples, but find myself not being able to get it work right even when just using a couple of elements at a time.

I love Aerodrums. Have been an everyday user for about 2 plus years now. I find myself just going to either midi (logic, steve slate, addictive drums 2) or the stock kits. I think Aerordums is an amazing product but seems to be sorely lacking on this front. Being able to easily add or download new kits would increase engagement in the product. Midi is fine but nothing beats the playability of the stock kits. I just dont like the way the snares sound, but absolutely love the toms!

Hi,

The last time I dabbled with Custom samples was when I created a ‘Brushes Kit’ a couple of months ago. It was actually surprisingly easy to do and I really enjoyed the experience of recording and experimenting. With the current situation in the world I (and many others) have suddenly got all the time in the world to delve into this side of things :)
Actually thinking about it, Aerodrums is the perfect ‘Lockdown Kit’, if you were stuck in a house/apartment, when literally even an electronic kit would drive other family members nuts... :D ...but maybe that’s a complete thread subject in itself.
I think if you use as many velocity layers as you can the better, but even just 12-15 can be a very usable amount. The way Aerodrums automatically sorts them in velocity order for you is genius in my opinion...Aerodrums never ceases to amaze me even after 5 years!.
Take care, stay safe and enjoy Aerodrums!

Regards

It's not that I can't do it. I have made a few, they just don't perform the way I want them to. I definitely not a technical genius, but am fairly competent.

As I am sure you, know there are a ton of variables involved in this product. That is why I would like to see somebody's custom kit, that they really believe in as far as being comparable to the playability of the stock kits. I think if I had a couple of kits to look at and analyze, I could get some of my stuff in order.

I tried to actually find where the aerodrums stock kits are stored within the program, to see if they utilize the file system that Richard, layed out in the previous post.

I have a persistent personality type. I can't help but think about the people who have wanted to enjoy this product, but gave up.

My apologies if this is slightly off-topic but another option for using different sounds in your recordings is to ‘replace’ the relevant sounds afterwards. I sometimes experiment with a clever piece of software called Drumagog. There are other free options also available...here’s me using my diy ‘Garden kit’ , recording the taps and then using Drumagog to trigger my samples afterwards..

Again, sorry this isn’t Aerodrums specifically...but it can easily be applied if you were to record all the elements separately from within the Aerodrums software, and then export them to A ‘drum replacer’.

Hi, yes sorry I decided to make my YouTube channel specifically Aerodrums related so I took that off...it was just a bit of fun in the garden during 1st few days of lockdown...I may do a similar video showing the same idea but with Aerodrums.. :D
