Hi,

First of all, thanx for the update !

I just read the whole page on your website dedicated to this update and I'm wondering if you have details ont the following sentence : "Aerodrums 3D is tuned for the new Aerodrums stand that will be available for purchase soon." ?

We haven't released any information about it yet but it's basically a stand that will constrain the camera at the optimum height and tilt angle. This will make setting up Aerodrums a lot quicker and will ensure consistency and accuracy in positioning the camera. It will also allow the use of a new calibration mode within Aerodrums to help position your seat correctly. We will have more information about it soon.

Hi guys
Can you share what this optimal height and angle is!?
I have a stand that slots onto front of my master keyboard which I think is a good height but interested in your findings re angles etc.

- regards the 3D update,
is quite impressive even without a vr system, will help new users the most I think.
my Mac uses built in graphics so at full res was slowing, but tweaked things to work well..

question: the positioning improvements in this version do they have a noticable improvement generally in tracking and accuracy /. Playability ?
It feels that way but could be confirmation bias..

Request: a low resource way to record both sound and video of drum screen would make for v cool video clips and other uses (guide tracks etc)

Many thanks

The height from floor to camera base is 73.5 cm. The tilt angle is 2 degrees down.

Regarding slow down, the biggest way you can improve this is to change from "Full anim" to "Partial anim" or "No anim" in the graphics settings. This will switch to using a static image of the environment and all non-moving drum parts instead of re-rendering them every frame.

For tracking, we did make some accuracy changes that result in less jitter in the positions of the markers. But this is mostly a visual improvement. It shouldn't have a noticeable effect on playability aspects.

We completely agree about an easy way to record videos and have a developed a pipeline for this that was used to make the videos we posted recently to Instagram. It also lets you record performances and replay them in realtime without rendering to a video. We haven't decided yet if we will expose this through a user friendly user interface or if we will leave it command-line driven. In anyway case we plan to make it available soon.

Cheers, will compare those specs with mine.video recording sounds promising. If can be low resource that's a bonus.

I got impression that when moving markers across/sideways over drum elements it was less likely to trigger, and in my case where I use a mesh head and modified sticks, moving sticks around the head surface doesn't trigger tiny hits like before.
Positive!

Problem with no anim (and no VR) is most of the positive aspects are lost and may as well use original graphics and get gauranteed play response. But then my Mac mini although powerful is not a graphics machine.

One downside of the new graphic toys is I spent long time playing with it and my light is near my monitor and i think gave myself eye strain headache by staring at light. (Not had problems Before) I do have shades but didn't wear.

If and When an android 3d version comes I envisage setting tablet near my head blocking the light solving that issue!
