Round robin

Round robin

Hi,

I would like to know how Aerodrums handles individual samples within one sound. Is there some round robin (i.e. AD alters samples so that one sample is not played twice a row or AD offsets pitch of samples etc.)?
I just wanted to ask because I found the response quite impressive also with my own custom sounds.

We're not doing anything special. The main reasons it feels good are because we have a very large number of velocity layers per drum/cymbal and we also have different samples for the left and right hands. Unlike Aerodrums, practically none of the VST drum samplers we've seen allow you to specify the hand when triggering a hit through MIDI. Aerodrums is able to differentiate between the left and the right hands and triggers samples accordingly. So there isn't even a need for us to apply some heuristic to avoid the "machine gun effect".

Thank you for the answer Richard.
The hand separation is very functional and I think it is something that really outshine the Aerodrums compared to anything else in current e-drum market (in addition to silent behavior of course :D).
