Adding drum samples on Mac version ++

Post by Bernie Williams » Fri Feb 06, 2015 4:18 pm

Hi Guys,
As I am writing music for a samba band, I would like to add samples for various instruments (repinique, caixa, ganza, tamborim, surdo etc.).
Currently, the volume of the snare drum in the default drum set drowns out the other instruments. I have also not been able to add new samples - even though I have created separate folders for each instrument as seems to be required.

So:
    • Is it possible to change the names of the drums in the Drum Sample tab?
      How do I add samples?
Can you recommend a site to download Brazilian drum samples? (There seem to be a lot of virus-ridden sites out there!)
Will you be adding volume controls per instrument as a feature?
Many thanks for your support.

Hi, I'm not sure why using custom samples isn't working for you. We require the .wav files to be in uncompressed format. If you can email me one of your wav files we can investigate what the problem is. You can find my email address here: http://aerodrums.com/about-aerodrums/

You can't currently change the drum names or volumes. Hopefully we will rectify these limitations in a future update but it's not something we have immediate plans to improve. At some point we will add MIDI support and this will provide a lot more for flexibility for non-drumkit uses.

The only free sample site I've used is http://www.freesound.org. It had what I was looking for so it's probably worth checking.
