Yes, you can reposition and resize the text elements and allow them to either overlap or displace the music notation. All fonts are hardcoded right now so you can't replace them. I'm sorry that you're having problems getting set up - I see that my colleague Yann has replied to your email with advice on how to resolve the issue.
There is support for accents and ghost notes but no support for text-based dynamic markings. You can add these yourself using the text tool but you will be limited to using the built-in font and won't be able to indicate crescendos.
