Found a supplier!

Re: I’m planning to turn white light into Infrared light.

That Optek light looks like the one to get. The SMD ir LEDs have a 100 degree fov. This is very similar to the SMD LEDs that are in the provided aerodrums light so should shine enough to reach your feet.

Looking forward to seeing your setup!

Re: I’m planning to turn white light into Infrared light.

Amazing work!

Does the light shine right down to your feet? I found it hard to find a wide enough angle. Well done on your work! Can't wait to see your progress.

Re: Drumstick orb lights with button cell DIY

I beg to differ on the retro reflector idea, considering the PS3 games use an 'orb' just like this one to track using the camera. Perhaps the software is calibrated more for the reflectors and amount of light that they reflect back. I found when using the AA batteries, once brought the brightness do...

Re: Drumstick orb lights with button cell DIY

Hi Eagle, Tracking worked well initially - but I'm having trouble with the LED brightnesss. It starts off bright enough to play, but they seem to drop in luminocity quickly? I'm using 3V batteries - no resistor. I don't know why this would be happening. When I used AA batteries with the same LED I h...

Drumstick orb lights with button cell DIY

Hi guys, I've been meaning to try this for a while - I've had the parts, but not the time. What I have done is: used a CR2032 battery holder with switch 1 watt super wide angle 'grow' LED light - red colour (any colour will do) Epoxy glued the 'grow light' onto the top of the battery holder trimmed ...

Re: I’m planning to turn white light into Infrared light.

I love the magnets idea! Are they very heavy? This has given me a few ideas. The ping pong balls I used were probably too large, however you can get plastic mini ping pong balls which might be just right. Stick a 1/2 watt led inside, epoxy to CR2032 battery holder that includes a switch. Epoxy a mag...

Re: I’m planning to turn white light into Infrared light.

Hi Eagle, I have tried a few of these ideas. Indeed it is a challenge to get it correct. Infrared becomes a problem during the day because daylight includes infrared light. Even with curtains drawn, I found that the camera could still see the light they were blocking. At night it was okay. The best ...

Re: LED Markers - DIY Solution

Hi Adam, I've been looking along all the same lines and had similar ideas. It's a simple thing but has been hard to execute due to really finding a battery holder the right shape and hollow sticks.. Best idea **not yet completed** I have so far is to use a Dremel to cut a groove for wire to slot in ...
